About this Record
Stars of Aviation were a distinguished UK indie pop ensemble renowned for their thoughtful, delicate chamber pop and melancholic songcraft. Released in 2006 on the beloved boutique imprint Kitchen Records (catalogue number Recipe 10), this 7-inch single showcases the songwriting synergy of core members Jonny Anstead and Nathan Oxley.
Recorded by seasoned engineer and producer Brian O’Shaughnessy at Bark Studio in London, the record features the evocative A-side ‘Marie Et L’Accordéon’ paired with ‘All Quiet On The Western Front’ on the flip side. Housed in a striking graphic sleeve designed by Frank (madebyfrank.co.uk) featuring an optical accordion-fold motif in vibrant magenta and monochrome tones, this single is a quintessential artifact of mid-2000s British independent pop.

(Wife’s thought: The physical record is right here taking up space, yet I listened to it on YouTube. …Wait, it’s actually really good.)
