About this Record
An original US 7-inch pressing from 1968 of one of the quintessential holy grails of soft rock and sunshine pop: Roger Nichols & The Small Circle of Friends on A&M Records (catalog #946). Produced by Tommy LiPuma and arranged by Nick DeCaro, this 45 features the breezy vocal harmonies and intricate pop sensibilities that defined the West Coast studio sound of the late 1960s.
Later rediscovered and revered by Shibuya-kei tastemakers and international soft rock collectors, Nichols’ compositions remain benchmarks of melodic sophistication. This copy features the classic ochre A&M label design with a drill hole, typical of US promotional or cutout distribution from the era.

「ロジャー・ニコルス祭り6枚目!穴が開いてあるから捨てられていたやつじゃないの?」
(Wife’s thought: Roger Nichols Festival, record number six! There’s literally a hole punched right through it—wasn’t this basically thrown in the trash? )
