About this Record
The Lonesome Rhodes was the female vocal duo featuring sisters Sandy and Donna Rhodes, hailing from the renowned Rhodes musical family in Memphis, Tennessee. Best known for their session work providing soulful backing vocals for legendary artists across Memphis and Nashville studios, the Rhodes sisters cut several charming and spirited singles under this moniker during the late 1960s.
Released in 1967 on RCA Victor, “The Delight of My Day” was helmed by celebrated RCA producer Felton Jarvis (renowned for his extensive work with Elvis Presley). This white-label promotional 7-inch 45 RPM single designates the track as the official “Plug Side” for radio broadcast, pressed directly from RCA’s vintage mono lacquers (matrix prefix UWKM dating precisely to 1967).
