About this Record
This 1969 French 7-inch single captures an orchestral pop take on the UK’s winning Eurovision Song Contest entry from that year: Lulu’s upbeat bubblegum anthem “Boom Bang-a-Bang” (penned by Alan Moorhouse and Peter Warne). Performed by The Mike Lorrayne Orchestra and Chorus and released under Larry Page’s Page One Productions banner via Fontana, this rendition brings an energetic, big-band easy listening flair characteristic of late-’60s European pop covers.
Housed in a distinctively psychedelic, pop-art-styled French picture sleeve (“Série Parade”), the record is an authentic French vintage pressing pressed by Philips/Fontana, featuring the classic blue label and boxed company logos on the reverse.

「YouTubeで観たけど、むっちゃ可愛かった。なにこのリカちゃん人形みたいな可愛さ。」
(Wife’s thought: I looked up the original performance on YouTube and was instantly mesmerized. She looks literally as cute as a vintage doll!)
